Whole Home Ventilator Systems
“Good air in, bad air out”. Essentially, a whole-home ventilator or air exchanger system helps your home exhale bad air. Air ventilation systems push trapped stale air outside by facilitating indoor air movement and dilute the indoor air of airborne contaminants like allergens, chemicals, and bacteria. Our Fresh Air Ventilation Systems connect to your home’s HVAC system to bring fresh air into your whole home to dilute all the pollutants that could be present.

What are the Benefits of a Whole Home Ventilator?
A whole-home ventilation system provides comfortable and efficient delivery of fresh air throughout your home. It expels odours and airborne contaminants and dilutes harmful volatile organic compounds by bringing in fresh, outdoor air.
Ventilator System Options
Since each home and each family’s needs differ, Lancaster Heating and Cooling will recommend and install the AprilAire ventilation system that’s right for you. There are two types of systems:
Heat recovery ventilation (HRV) is used for winter ventilation, transferring heat from the warm airstream to the cooler airstream.
Energy recovery ventilation (ERV) is used for year-round ventilation, transferring heat and moisture, to reduce window condensation and improve indoor air quality.
The AprilAire ERV uses conditioned indoor air to either preheat or precool the incoming outside air, depending on the season. In winter, the incoming outside air is preheated by the warm stale indoor air being removed from your home. This reduces the energy needed by the heating system to warm the incoming air. In the summer, the outside air is pre-cooled by the stale indoor air being exhausted from your home. Despite the inside air potentially being warm, the outside air is cooled because it is warmer than the indoor air.
