One exception to plan for: older units that use R-22 can only be serviced with recovered or reclaimed refrigerant, which makes major refrigerant repairs costly. In Ontario, refrigerants must be handled by certified technicians, and ours hold the Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) card.
