The City of St. Catharines lists installing or altering HVAC systems among work requiring a building permit. Requirements for a straight replacement can vary, so we'll confirm for your project. See the [City of St. Catharines permit page](https://www.stcatharines.ca/applications-licences-and-permits/building-permits/do-i-need-a-building-permit/). ### Is a heat pump a good fit for a St. Catharines home? Often, yes. St. Catharines' climate is moderated by Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, so a cold-climate heat pump can handle most or all of the heating season, with a furnace as backup in a hybrid system. ## Customer reviews > "I had a furnace and A/C installed this past Thursday.
